Personal bio Peter Golden was born in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in South Orange and Maplewood. In 1971 he graduated from Columbia High School and went on to attend Ohio University. After two years in Athens, he came back east to the University at Albany, where he earned a degree in Philosophy and Judaic Studies. A full-time writer and editor since 1984, Golden lives in Albany with his wife and son.
